Senior men edge thrilling Barbarians contest
Wales Men kicked off the day with a 33-31 victory over the Barbarians at Allianz Stadium in an entertaining encounter that saw Steve Tandy's side hold off a late fightback.
Kieran Hardy opened the scoring before fly-half Dan Edwards added two tries. Reuben Morgan-Williams and Ellis Mee also crossed as Wales built an advantage.
The Barbarians, featuring Welsh great George North in the final match of his illustrious career, refused to go away. North marked his farewell with two tries and added the final conversion as the invitational side closed to within two points, but Wales held on to secure a win ahead of the Nations Championship which kicks off next week against Fiji at Cardiff City Stadiums
Wales Women overpower Barbarians
Wales Women completed a memorable day for Welsh rugby with an impressive victory over the Barbarians, continuing the encouraging progress being made under Sean Lynn.
A confident display in attack, combined with a resilient defensive effort, saw Wales overcome the invitational side, with Player of the Match Bryonie King producing an outstanding all-action performance. The result provides another timely confidence boost as preparations for this year's WXV Global Series continue.
Attention now turns to South Africa and USA, who visit Cardiff Arms Park this September.
Wales U20s hold their nerve in Georgia
Wales U20 opened their World Rugby U20 Championship campaign with a dramatic 25-24 victory over hosts Georgia.
Richard Whiffin's side showed resilience throughout a fiercely contested encounter before holding their composure in a tense finish to claim a valuable opening win in Pool A. Facing a passionate home crowd and a Georgia side full of confidence, Wales demonstrated character to get their tournament off to the perfect start and lay down an early marker in their bid to reach the knockout stages.
Three teams, three wins and plenty of positives made it a perfect Saturday for Welsh rugby.
