Three of the top performers from the weekends Rugby
- 1936
Dave Ewers
Fantastic performance from Ewers in his sides win over Northampton Saints. The Chiefs knew that a win would put them back into the top four and they did just that winning 21-10. Ewers has been one of their most consistent players this season and he showed his class once again with an impressive performance. If Ewers continues his fine form until the end of the season he could earn himself a spot in Stuart Lancaster’s World Cup squad.
James Benjamin
Talk about an impact sub with Benjamin proving to be the matchwinner for the Dragons against Leinster. Benjamin came on at the start of the second half looking to bring his side back into the game as they trailed by 14 points at one stage. He eventually made an impact scoring two tries in five minutes to put his side ahead. The Dragons held on in the end for a 25-22 win and secured the double over Leinster after beating them at the RDS in February.
Maurie Fa'asavalu
What a performance from the Samoan helping Oyonnax to a shock 11-10 win over Clermont Auvergne at the Stade Marcel Michelin. Even though it may of been a second string Clermont side Oyonnax recorded a famous win with Fa’asavalu instrumental in securing his side the win. He if was not putting in tackle after tackle he was winning turnovers at the breakdown and put his body on the line and was not going to be on the losing side.
