Three of the best centre partnerships in Six Nations history

Three of the best centre partnerships in Six Nations history

Mike Tindall and Will Greenwood

In what will go down as one of England’s most successful centre partnerships Tindall and Greenwood brought fear to any side they played against. With Tindall he was a player that would put in hit after hit and put his body on the line. While Greenwood  had such good attacking flair everytime he had ball in hand he always looked like scoring. There centre partnership brought a lot of success to English Rugby in particular in 2003 when they won the Grand Slam and the World Cup.

D’arcy and O’Driscoll

It’s amazing to think that in Ireland’s game against South Africa in November it was the first time since 1999 that neither O’Driscoll nor D’arcy featured in an Irish game, with O’Driscoll and D’arcy playing alongside eachother in over 50 games for Ireland. The pair had a successful career alongside eachother winning four triple crowns and two Six Nations Championships (Grandslam 09)  and also winning four league titles and three European Cups with Leinster.

Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies

Out of the three this is the only centre partnership that remains today. Since the World Cup in 2011 this have been the centre partnership for Wales that also represented The British and Irish Lions in the final test against Australia in 2013. After four years of playing alongside eachother Davies and Roberts were instrumental in Wales getting to the semi-final of the World cup in 2011 aswell as winning the Grandslam in 2012 and the Six Nations championship in 2013.
