Jake White named three uncapped players in the back three of a John Smit lead side in a significant but for Ireland being the final match at the old Lansdowne Road and for Ireland's dominant 32-15 victory.
23 September 2023 | Ireland 13-8 South Africa, Stade de France:
It was the group decider in what many thought would be the group of death and the winner would not play the hosts in the quarter final of the tournament. The Springboks were the reigning champions and Ireland were favorites to win the tournament.
13 July 2024 | South Africa 24-25 Ireland, Kings Park Stadium:
The Springboks were looking at sealing the series on home soil and named 990 test caps in their starting line up but they ran into an Ireland side that mounted one of their best comebacks with the odds stacked against them as Ciaran Frawley bags two drop goals in the dying minutes to win it.
