Super Rugby Round 4 Stats Leaders : Most Tackles, Carries, Metres Gained, Defenders Beaten and More

Crusaders loose-forward Tom Christie tops the tackle count this week with 20. Mitchell Brown of the Chiefs and Highlander James Lentjes each contributed 18 and Aidan Ross (Chiefs) and Connal McInerney share third position with 17.

Crusaders winger George Bridge was industrious on attack, carrying the ball 20 times against the Highlanders. Welsh international Jamie Roberts (Stormers), Michael Collins of the Highlanders and Reds fly-half James O’Connor all made a total of 18 carries with David Havili (Crusaders) making 17.

Michael Collins’ 18 carries produced the most metres gained in this round with 135. Sharks winger Makazole Mapimpi strung together some good runs against the Rebels to rack up 111m while Thomas Banks managed 102m for the Brumbies.

The highest number of defenders beaten in Round 4 was by Reds outside centre Hunter Paisami with 8. Fellow Reds Jock Campbell and Chris Feaual-Sautia each beat 7. Madosh Tambwe (Sharks), Marika Koroibete (Rebels), David Havili, James O’Connor and George Bridge all rounded 6 defenders.

Sharks centre and captain Andre Esterhuizen was surprisingly busy on the ground against the Rebels, winning 3 turnovers- the most this round. Lukhan Salakala-Loto (Reds), Cullen Grace (Crusaders), Pieter-Steph Du Toit (Stormers), Rodrigo Brunl (Jaguares), Lachlan Lonergan (Brumbies), Rchard Hardwick (Rebels), Tevita Tupou (Sunwolves) and Michael Allardice (Chiefs) all managed two apiece.
