- 1825
Another fantastic result for the Jaguares as the claim only their second victory in New Zealand after beating the Blues last week. The win sees the Jaguares claim 4th consecutive victories in the competition for the first time. The game got off to a slow start with McKenzie getting the home side on the board through a penalty. Boffelli leveled the scores with a massive penalty of his own. Ramiro Mayano got the first try of the game as the Jaguares pounced on a Chiefs knock on in the 26th minute. McKenzie converted two penalties after the try to give the Chiefs a 12-10 halftime lead. The Chiefs went down a man early in the second half when Allardice was yellow carded and the Jaguares punished them straight away with a penalty try with Liam Messam also getting yellow carded for collapsing the maul resulting in the penalty try. The next score came 20 minutes later through Sanchez boot which gave the Jaguares an 11 point lead with 10 minutes to play. The Chiefs finally broke through the Jaguares defence with Jesse Parete scoring on his debut but it was too little too late for the home side. Full-time Chiefs 19-23 Jaguares.
