Damian McKenzie put in a strong showing for the Chiefs scoring 11 points, including a try and was credited with a try assist as the Chiefs romped a spirited Sunwolves effort. The Sunwolves looked lively at stages but will roe their errors that the Chiefs pounced on and punished. Garth April got the hosts off to a good start but the Chiefs replied with four tries from Alaimalo, Stevenson, Weber and McKenzie. Jaba Bregvadze got one back to make it 12-24 at half time. Boshier scored a runaway try early in the second half with Nakano replying with 10 minutes to go before the Chiefs scored two late tries to seal a 17-43 victory with Quinn Tupaea and Kaleb Trask finishing on a high.
