Stuart Hogg's International Debut

Stuart Hogg's International Debut

Just after the 15-minute mark in the 2012 Six Nations match-up between Wales and Scotland, Stuart Hogg, the 19 year old Glasgow Warriors fullback jogged onto the pitch, as an injury substitution, for his first international cap.

Nearly a decade on, one of the finest sights in the modern game is the stocky, ranging fullback traversing the field of play with ball in hand, displaying near perfect balance as he weaves his pacey attacking thread, stitching up defensive systems at will.

The teenager had an understandably nervous start, his first touch being a chip which landed in the palms of George North. However, as the game progressed and the nerves settled, Hogg showed flashes of the quality for which he is known today.

He currently plies his trade with Exeter Chiefs and captains Scotland’s national side.
