Springbok and Stormers flyhalf Damian Willemse is in talks with Saracens and is set to join the Premiership and Champions Cup holders should he not make the Springboks Rugby World Cup squad.
Western Province head coach John Dobson told SARugbymag, that should Willemse not be named in the squad, he would spend the World Cup on a short-term loan with Saracens.
The 21-year-old earned 5 test caps for the Springboks last year but has not featured in the test side this year after suffering a knee injury in the latter stages of Super Rugby.
He made a successful comeback from injury last week in the Currie Cup and starts for Western Province this week as he looks to make one final bid for a place in Rassie Erasmus' World Cup squad, that will be named on Monday.
Speaking to SARugbymag, Dobson confirmed that they are in talks with Saracens.
"There is the possibility he might go on loan to Saracens during the World Cup, which I think is a brilliant opportunity,"
"With the kicking game in Europe and he will have the opportunity to work with Dan Vickers and Mark McCall."
Willemse's utility could a big boost for Saracens with his ability to play flyhalf, inside centre and fullback.
