Springbok 7s trio join Cheetahs

Springbok Sevens stars Cecil Afrika, Chris Dry and Rosco Specman have all signed contracts with the Cheetahs until the end of October 2017. 

The World Sevens Series winners joined the Cheetahs squad for training on Monday.

Former Sevens Player of the Year Cecil Africa played fifteen-man rugby for the Griffons in 2011 and was part of the Sevens Team that took Bronze in the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India.

Rosko Specman played for Currie Cup for the Sharks and the Pumas and joined the Cheetahs for the Beachcomber World Club 10’s in Mauritius. Specman was one of the stand-out performers for the 7s side as they won the 2016/17 World Sevens Series.

Chris Dry grew up in Bloemfontein and played for iconic Grey College, Bloemfontein as well as Varsity Cup side, the Shimlas.  He represented the Free State Cheetahs in 2010. Dry is a seasoned campaigner in the South Africa Sevens squad and has been a regular squad member since the 2009/10 World Sevens Series.
