France kept their Grand Slam hopes live with a famous win in Cardiff, ending a 10-year wait for a victory to outline their title credentials in a thriller at a raucous Principality Stadium on Saturday. Before the classic at the Principality kicked off Scotland eased some of the pressure on head coach Gregor Townsend by getting off the mark in the Six Nations with a 17-0 away win over Italy.
We take a look at look our picks of the player's of the day.
Romain Ntamack - France
The matchwinner in Cardiff, Ntamack kept his cool while the more experienced Dan Biggar lost his in a nail-biting thriller in Wales. Ntamack did brilliantly to read Wales' attack to intercept Nick Tompkins pass in the 51st minute but throughout the match Ntamack showed class beyond his years.
He converted all of his attempts at goal scoring 17 points guiding his side to victory. Antoine Dupont has grabbed the headlines of late with his blockbuster performances in the opening two rounds while Ntamack has quietly gone about his work with excellent efficiency and class.

Jake Polledri - Italy
Polledri continued his fine form from the opening two rounds of the competition, in the third. He was simple brilliant against Scotland but couldn't inspire his side to victory.
12 Carries for 28 running metres and 7 defenders beaten show just how effective he was on attack but he also weighed in with 17 tackles - a tally only bettered by his captain Luca Bigi
He continues to be one of the biggest threats over the ball in the competition and managed to nab 4 turnovers against the Scots.
Stuart Hogg - Scotland.
Under pressure and scrutinised for his mistakes in the opening two rounds of the competition, Hogg replied by scoring a fantastic solo try against the Italians, topped the running metres in the clash and had an overall brilliant game for Scotland.

Ross Moriarty - Wales
Moriarty's game at blindside may be overlooked this weekend due to Wales' loss but the flanker was quietly brilliant.
His break down the touchline almost set Wales on track for a matching winning try, while he worked tirelessly on both sides of the ball making 12 carries and 13 tackles.
His efforts were in vain but not should not be overlooked.
Paul Willemse - France
Both of France's South African locks were outstanding this evening. They both weighed in heavily on attack and defence with Willemse steamrolling Jonny McNicholl to score what would prove to be a crucial try.
Willemse epitomised France's brutality on defence while his tackle on Ken Owens may have been questionable, it was a try saver nonetheless.
He too made 17 tackles without missing and 9 carries.
