Six Nations Maulers | Who Got It Right?

The maul is an effective weapon despite more laws coming in to govern it. It is no surprise that England had the most mauls in the 2026 Six Nations but what will come as a surprise is that Scotland had the second most mauls with Wales and France equal in third.

England mauled for 122 meters from their 38 mauls. Winning 33 of those, 28 were outright wins and they earned four penalties from these plays.

Ireland had the least mauls of any side this year with just 11, these yielded just 19 meters of gain. While Italy had 25 mauls they only managed to gain 28 meters giving them the worst teritorial gain but were third on the list in terms of mauls won with France enjoying a 93% successive rate and Scotland 89%.
