Six Nations Hookers Ranked

Having a strong scrum and accurate line out are key to making a good team great, without them you will struggle to be a dominant force in the game. Here is a look at the line out data from this years tournament ranking the top five hookers by volume of throw in's.

Giacomo Nicotera | Italy:

The Italian hooker completed 45 of his 54 line out's for an 83% accuracy rate. Of the designated hookers, only Dave Cherry had a worse accuracy throwing. Italy had the most full line out's of any of team in the tournament and their second most used line out was the five man line out plus one. No team had more line out throws than Italy over the 2026 tournament.

Dewi Lake | Wales:

Lake threw in at 48 line out's with a 90% accuracy rate. Wales were the side that threw to the back of the line out the most, completing 22 of these and also threw over the 15m line, or long, the most of any side but also had more line out's in their own half than any other side with 34 defensive set pieces. Alex Mann won 20 of the Welsh line out's being the sides most used jumper.

Jamie George | England:

At 98% accuracy off his 46 line out's (missing just one) George was the second most accurate hooker of the tournamnet behind George Turner (33 from 33 line out's). England threw the most to the front and the middle of the line out and were thr joint tournament leaders in line out accuracy on 95% with Ireland.
