Six Nations Highlights: Scotland v Italy

Scotland got their Six Nations Championship campaign off to the perfect start with a bonus point 33-20 home win over Italy in the opening round. Despite some early attacking opportunities for Scotland, it was Italy who opened the scoring with a penalty to lead 3-0. Scotland hit back shortly after with the games first try for a 5-3 advantage. The hosts made their possession and territorial dominance count with a second try to take a 12-3 lead into the halftime break. Two second half tries saw Scotland take full control of the match as they led 26-3 heading into the final quarter of the match. A fifth try all but wrapped up the match for Scotland, but they did pick up a yellow card with a little under ten minutes to play. Italy upped the tempo with their numerical advantage and were able to capitalize and cross for three late scores to bring some respectability to the scoreline.
