Sir Clive Woodward fits the criteria to become France coach


The last I knew, Sir Clive Woodward’s grasp of the French language placed my
holiday efforts somewhere between Proust and Baudelaire.

The man has not
been directly involved in coaching since the ill-fated Lions tour to New
Zealand in 2005, where he packed the party not only with fading Englishmen
but Alastair Campbell, the former Labour spin doctor.



The most notable aspect of the tour was how calamitously Woodward and Campbell
misread New Zealand rugby.

The Lions spun off the field and collapsed on it.
