Sio aiming to replicate his father
Scott Sio is ready to follow in the footsteps of his father as he bids to make the Wallabies final squad for the Rugby World Cup.
Sio has five Test caps to his name already and hopes to feature this weekend in Australia’s opening game of the Rugby Championship when they take on South Africa in Brisbane.
Sio’s father David starred for Samoa during the 1991 competition, while his brother Patrick, who has been billed as the next Wycliff Palu, is also set for a bright future and recently moved to France to join current Top 14 champions Stade Français.
"Family is everything. I'd love to start a tradition of the Sio family representing at rugby World Cups and I'm sure my brother [Patrick] has the same feeling with himself heading over to France,” Sio told the Canberra Times.
"It's a long way to go to the World Cup now, I'm just focusing on this week and hopefully I'm able to pull on the gold jersey this weekend.
"I was a bit disappointed last year getting injured early and certainly want to make the most of it this year.”
