Connacht Rugby are delighted to announce that Shamus Hurley-Langton has agreed a new deal with the club, keeping him at Connacht for the 2026/27 season.
Since arriving in 2022, the 26-year-old New Zealander has become a vital component of the Connacht pack. He quickly established himself as a fan favourite, and was named Connacht’s Player of the Year for the 2023/24 campaign.
Across his four seasons in green he has scored 16 tries in 64 appearances, and this year has played a major role in Connacht’s winning run of form, scoring 4 tries in his last 5 appearances.
Shamus Hurley-Langton says:
“It’s clear we’re building something special here in the club, and I want to play my part in the success that I believe we are working towards. I want to thank all the fans who have made me feel so welcome since arriving to Connacht 4 years ago. It’s a special place with special people. For now I’m focused on these next two games, and help us reach the playoffs”.
Stuart Lancaster say:
“Shamus’s new deal is another massive boost for everyone in the club. I’ve got to know Shamus well this season and really enjoy coaching him. I feel there is still even more to come from him, and these last few games have shown just how good a player he already is. His dynamism on the ball, his relentless work rate at the breakdown is top class and he will be another huge asset for us as we head into next season.”
