Sexton injury update

When Johnny Sexton left the field in the second half of the most recent Leinster vs Munster clash, much concern was voiced as to whether it meant that he would not be fit to take the field in Ireland’s Six Nations opener against Wales on Sunday 7 February.
However, after his assessment, the fly-half has been deemed in decent enough condition to play his part in the test.
“Any time you get a niggle like that, it’s very frustrating,” Sexton said.
“I did a lot of work over the last four or five weeks to make sure something like this didn’t happen, and it did.
“It’s nothing major and hopefully I’ll be back training by the end of the week and fit for the Wales game.”
