Saturday wrap up
Saracens dominated the first game of the day throughout and got the 5 points needed from the game after scoring 8 tries in total with Ashton getting a hat trick. Oyonnax started well but they could not handle the power of Saracens, who extended their unbeaten run in the competition.
Wasps returned to winning ways with a thoroughly convincing 36-10 victory over Bath. Bath got in for an early try but it was Wasps who took control of the game from early on and ran in two first half tries giving them a 16 point lead at the break. They brought the same intensity into the second half and closed the game out with a commanding man of the match performance from Jimmy Gopperth. The victory serves as a great response to last weekend's frustrating defeat as Wasps move up to the top spot in pool 5.
Stade Francais came away deserved victors after a dogged battle at the Stade Jean-Bouin. The Italian visitors showed both resilience in defence and creativity in attack, but were inevitably outclassed by a star studded and ruthlessly clinical French outfit. Although discipline was lacking at times, Stade secure the bonus point, accruing 6 tries in total.
In Pool 5, Toulon were the winners in was a game of two halves at the Aviva. After losing their first three games in the pool, Leinster played a fantastic opening 40 dominating all areas of the field going into the second half with an 11 point lead. Unfortunately that was as good as it got for Leo Cullen's side in what was a champions performance from Toulon who put the sword to Leinster in the second half with a penalty try and a try from substitute Etrillard enough to see Toulon leave Dublin with a win.
Bordeaux got their first win in the competition this season with bonus point win over Ospreys. A superb performance over a poor Ospreys side who failed to capitalise on a number of opportunities. Ospreys almost staged a brilliant comeback but they failed to get over the line one last time in the end.On the plus side, they left France for the second time this season with 2 points, securing a losing bonus point and a try bonus point.
Glasgow did the double on their Pro12 rivals Scarlets in a scrappy affair in Wales. The Scottish side dug in to win 9-6 in a tight encounter, which was full of controversy with yellow cards.
