Sam Warburton says sevens got him hooked on rugby and gives advice to those thinking of joining Rio revolution

As Wales and British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton may be a giant of his sport, but when he was much smaller it was a dirty pair of socks, handed to him at a sevens event in his home city of Cardiff, which infected him with the rugby bug.

The 26-year-old, who led the Lions to glory in Australia two summers ago, was at the London Sevens last weekend and recalled the story which opened his eyes to rugby, and convinced him to turn his back on his beloved football and give the sport a go.
