Sale bolster backroom staff

Sale Sharks’ director of rugby, Steve Diamond, has confirmed scrum coach Dan Richmond and vastly experienced specialist kicking coach Jon Callard are working as part of the Sharks’ backroom team.

“Dan has been working with us for a couple of years now and the scrum has been really good and he is very highly respected throughout the game,” Diamond told Sale Sharks’ official website.

“Jon Callard has an impeccable coaching record internationally and he’s working with us a consultant, looking at our kicking game."

In addition, Sale have also confirmed the appointment of former player Neil Briggs to the key role as Academy transition manager.

“Briggsy has always had a passion for coaching. It has been really good to bring him into the set-up and he’s going to be ideal in proving to our young players what they need to be in order to make it to the top.”
