 The Springboks bounced back after trailing the whole match, to secure a win in Johannesburg. Here we look at the player rankings

15 – Aphelele Fassi 6

The Springboks fulback made a try saving tackle in both the 2nd and 3rd minute, unfortunately he recieved a yellow card on the 6th minute mark. However, when he came back on he was a talisman on the field with his trademark high ball collections and counter runs. A bad 


14 – Cheslin Kolbe 6.5

The winger was making errors as much as he was making vital plays. It was fairly silent first half, but got busy towards end. His off the ball runs proved to be a problem.


13 – Jesse Kriel 6

Ironically, the outside centre seemed to have a better game at wing filling in for Kur-Lee Arendse. His defence proved formidable and ran well with ball in hand, and made good runs. 



12 – Damian de Allende 4.5

Not the best games for DDA who started off well winning a turnover in the 21st minute, but remained questionable on defence. As a result, his channel was exposed by Jordie Barrett when he gave away interception

11 – Kurt-Lee Arendse 6

A good performance by the wing, who made a try saving tackle the 2nd minute. However his game was cut short after he walked off after colliding with Rieko Ioane's legs.


10 – Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu 7

A shaky start by the youngster, however 29th minute 61m kick saw the fly-half impress all in attencdance. His tactital and field kicking left a little more to be desired, however his attacking prowess remained resolute. 

9 – Cobus Reinach 6

Reinach was able to match Perenara's pace and physicality, completing his passes efficiently.

8 – Jasper Wiese - 8

After serving his ban, Wiese returned like he never left. He carried the ball well and was resolute

7 – Ben-Jason Dixon 4

We didnt see much from the Stormers loose forward, losing a line out in the first half.

6 – Siya Kolisi 7.5

The naysayers continue to be shut, as the captain with good his carries and solid defense proved that his form is still on

5 – Ruan Nortje 5

We couldnt see much from the lock as he was replaced early, but he was strong in the line outs. 

4 – Pieter-Steph du Toit 8.5

Man of the match, not much more can be said

3 – Frans Malherbe - 7 

Good scrumming 


2 – Bongi Mbonambi 8

Scoreda try off maul 16th minute, showed great scrumming while winning 100% of his lineouts

1 – Ox Nche 7.5

Excellent scrumming and ball running

16 – Malcolm Marx 5

Subbed on in the 43rd, threw two missed line outs, but made a vital steal in the 76th min that saw Sacha miss a lead extended penalty kick

17 – Gerhard Steenekamp 6.5

Came on in the 43rd minute and continued the Excellent scrumming and ball running.

18 – Vincent Koch 6.5

Came on in the 43rd minute and continued the Excellent scrumming and ball running.

19 – Eben Etzebeth 7

The enforcer came on early for Nortje and made his impact known, as the handling and unforced errors from the Boks decreased. 

20 – Elrigh Louw 7

On in the 43rd minute at eighthaman, and contributed to the replacement forward packs dominance.


21 – Kwagga Smith 8

On in the 43rd, Kwagga was the best impact player on the day. He immediately won turnovers, before scoring a try in the 68th minute.


22 – Grant Williams 7

After going on in the 43rd minute, Williams scored the winning try in the 75th minute off a maul

 
23 – Handre Pollard 6

We didn't see much from the Boks' number 1 fly-half who came in at inside centre, however he was able to secure the win with the team.
