Ryan Edwards signs a contract extension with Bristol

Ryan Edwards has signed a contract extension at Bristol Rugby ahead of the 2017/18 season.

A product of the Bristol Academy and one of the club's standout performers this season, having made 12 appearances so far this season.

Edwards made his debut in 2011 and signed a professional term with the Bristol Academy in 2013.

"At 26 years old, Ryan is reaching the prime of his career and we’re delighted that another Academy-produced player is buying into what we are trying to achieve here.”  Head Coach, Mark Tainton.

"Ryan has worked really hard to get back from a hernia injury and he played superbly on his return to play against Exeter on Saturday,” He added

Edwards commented: “While it was frustrating to miss some of the season through injury, it’s been a positive season for me personally. I’m really enjoying my rugby and excited about the coaches coming on board and the style of rugby they want to play.

“As one of the longest-serving players in the squad, I know how much Bristol Rugby means to the supporters. Every player is determined to help the Club achieve its goals and we’re positive about what lies ahead and the vision that Pat [Lam] has.”
