Round 1 of the Top 14 by the numbers

The opening round of the Top 14 saw Lyon score the most tries with 7 and Antoine Hastoy of Pau top the points log with a haul of 18.

A number of players bagged a brace this weekend with Mamuka Gorgodze and Julien Heriteau scoring for Toulon while Peter Bethan (Clermont), Noa Nakaitaci (Lyon) & Mathieu Lamoulie (Agen) joining the group.

Martin Puech was immense on defence for Pau in their 33-14 win over Brive with his 26 tackles. To add to that he did not miss a single attempt and made 2 turnover wins, he  was followed by Mariano Galarza of Bayonne with 19 tackles

Lyon topped the list for individual defenders beaten with 3 players in the top 15 but Thibaut Regard (9) & Jean-Marc Doussain (7) beat more defenders than any other player in the league. Lyon crushed Stade Francais 43-9
