Rhys Webb set to leave Toulon at the end of the season - report

Rhys Webb is set to leave Toulon at the end of this season,  according to reports in France.

The Wales and Lion scrum-half is under contract with the three-times European champions until the summer of 2021 but could return ahead of the 2020/21 season joining either the Ospreys or Dragons meaning the 31-times capped scrum-half would be eligible to play for Wales again.

Midi Olympique claims he will be moving on next June to return home and possibly resume his international career.

Webb has been finding life in France difficult as he is separated from his family with his partner Delyth and their three sons back in Wales.

Settling in France with the children proved difficult, so the decision was taken for Delyth and his sons to return home.

Midi Olympique suggests there is an optional element to the third year of his contract. They also indicated he won’t be at the club next season.

The article suggests Toulon would be amenable to him leaving, with French international scrum-half Baptiste Serin having come on board from Bordeaux Begles.
