Review: England 13 - 33 Australia
England made and unprecedented exit from the World Cup at the hands of an Australian team that looked far more dominant throughout this Pool A clash. In the scrum the Wallabies pack produced an awesome performance and looked too powerful for their English counterparts.
In attack Australia were far more clinical and the first half saw them score two incredible tries through their talisman Bernard Foley giving them a comfortable 17-3 half time lead. English hopes of a comeback were sparked when Anthony Watson scored an impressive try early in the second half but ill discipline crept into their game and the Wallabies capitalised.
The sin binning of Owen Farrell with 10 minutes to go made the situation even more ominous and a last minute Australian try from Matt Giteau hit the final nail in England's coffin. This result raises many questions of the future of Stuart Lancaster whilst Cheika's Australia side look forward to the knock out stages with the ultimate prize in their sight.
MOTM: Bernard Foley. An outstanding performance from the Waratahs man. Dictated the show at 10 and scored two well worked tries. Proved he is one of the best in the world at the moment.
