Wasps and England No 8 Nathan Hughes is poised for a £500k-a-year move to the Bristol Bears according to a report by the Daily Mail, unless the club can match the deal.
Hughes, who is thought to earn between £250,000 and £300,000 has not made a decision on his future according to a Daily Mail source close to the player.
Premiership clubs are not allowed to approach players contracted to another club until January 1 of the year their deal expires.
Hughes could add to the list of departures with the club recently confirming that Christian Wade has left the club and is thought to be going to America to try kick-start his NFL career.
Bristol are reportedly looking for a replacement for Steven Luatua who is seeking a move back to New Zealand to have a crack at a spot in the All Black squad for the Rugby World Cup.
La Rochelle and former All Black Victor Vito has also been linked with a deal with Bristol Bears.
