Rebels prop Weeks faces two months on sidelines

Melbourne Rebels have suffered a hefty blow, losing leading prop Laurie Weeks for up to eight weeks with a leg fracture.



Weeks suffered the injury in Friday's loss to the Hurricanes in Wellington.

Scans confirmed a fracture of his left tibial plateau.

While he does not require surgery, he is expected to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.



"He is a wonderful, positive influence on the group, and his experience is invaluable; we'll miss that on the field," the Rebels' Head of Athletic Performance Bryce Cavanagh said.
