- 2603
The Melbourne Rebels have appointed Nick Ryan as the club’s new General Manager – Professional Rugby and Pathways.
Ryan, currently serving as Randwick Rugby Club’s Director of Rugby since 2013, will fill the vacant position following the promotion of Baden Stephenson to the Melbourne Rebels’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in June.
Ryan has a track record of establishing and growing quality rugby programs during a career that has included coaching and management roles with Sydney University Rugby Club, Harvard University Rugby Club, Naas Rugby Club in Ireland, Fijian national team and Rebels as a recruitment manager.
The appointment continues the rejuvenation of the Rebels’ rugby program, which will include the recruitment of a new head coach, new head of performance and rebuilt squad ahead of the 2018 Super Rugby season.
In his new role as General Manager – Professional Rugby and Pathways at the Melbourne Rebels, Ryan will oversee the club’s re-energised football department and responsible for the delivery of on-field success for Victorian rugby community across the pathways program.
The Rebels will finalise the recruitment for the remaining coaching and on-field positions over the coming weeks.
