Quarter Final Snapshot
- 791
The rugby world was treated to arguably the best quarter final weekend in history as North and South did battle with Argentina, New Zealand, England and South Africa going through. Ireland and France were stunned by New Zealand and South Africa respectively. We take a look at some of the stand out moments in each match that wittled eight down to four.
Wales v Argentina:
Wales cruise in to the game as favorites with Argentina stuttering through the group stages. Michael Cheika's men were not stuttering on the day and stayed in the fight the entire game. The moment that changed it all was the try saving tackle on Louis Rees-Zammit. Argentina went on to win 17-29.

Ireland v New Zealand:
Ireland fail yet again at the first knock out stages of a World Cup as the underdogs New Zealand came out firing to dump the World Number One side out. Sam Cane put in a phenominal performance in the 24-28 win making 22 tackles and forcing two turnovers
England v Fiji:
England are the only Northern Hemishphere side through to the Semi Final's but were made to work hard as Fiji made a brilliant comeback and were unlucky not to push England harder. Courtney Lawes did well to take a very low pass earlier in the passage of play but England kept the pressure on and with the drop goal took a 27-24 lead with 9 minutes to play

France v South Africa:
The defending champions took on the hosts again in a RWC and knocked them out. In 2019 Japan suffered and in 2023 France went down by a single point. France had the upper hand for most of the game but the Springbok cover defence and scramble was what kept them in the game. With the game on a knife's edge Cheslin Kolbe charged down Thomas Ramos preventing a conversion 23 minutes into the game.
