Pro14 Round 15 Preview: Cardiff Blues vs Ospreys
- 1776
It’s another all-Welsh affair at Rodney Parade on Sunday with Cardiff Blues confronting Alun Wyn Jones’ Ospreys.
Both outfits will take the field with much to prove after Blues were bullied 32-12 by Scarlets in Round 14 while Ospreys didn’t do enough to earn the coveted ‘W’ next to their name as they drew to Dragons 20-all.
There is little reason to believe that this impending encounter will not be a close one as the last one of its kind, in Round 8, ended with only three points separating the sides (19-16) in favour of Blues, despite being shown two yellow cards during the proceedings.
If Ospreys hope to contain their opposition, they will have to pay special attention to applying pressure to the lethal combination of the half-back pairing of Tomos Williams and Jared Evans who, when they find their groove, exude fantastic enterprise and control.
While both teams are languishing around the bottom of their respective conferences, such details are sure to go out the proverbial window when they engage in combat with so much Welsh pride and tradition at stake.
🗣 “There’s little details that we can put right very quickly, and there are errors in the game that are bound to happen when the boys are a little rusty. We need to make sure we’re on top of that, heading into the game against Ospreys.”@Jnavidi looks to Sunday's game v Ospreys pic.twitter.com/gDDNZks25Z
