PRO14 Predictions

Friday

Ospreys vs Zebre (19:45)

These sides have already met once this season, when Ospreys travelled to Italy and claimed a hard fought 22-8 win. Expect a much more comfortable performance as Ospreys host the Italians this time round.

Prediction: Ospreys by 10+

Munster vs Edinburgh (19:45)

Munster last hosted the Scots in the play-offs last season where they were pushed all the way to a 20-16 victory. With victory, the home side can close the gap on Edinburgh's rivals Glasgow in Conference A, meanwhile if Richard Cockerill's side were to win they would go into the top 3 of Conference B. Conor Murray is back for Munster in a very strong side named for the clash. Munster should see off the Scots handy enough.

Prediction: Munster 12+

Saturday

Cheetahs vs Connacht (15:00)

Connacht travel to South Africa to take on a struggling Cheetahs side at the Free State Stadium. These sides played twice last season, with both making use of home advantage and defeating eachother on their own patch. A tough place to go but Connacht can stake a good claim for a top 3 spot with victory.

Prediction: Connacht by 3

Ulster vs Cardiff (15:00)

These two teams have met eachother 19 times and Ulster have come out on top 10 times compared to the Blues' 8 victories. A close match is on the cards here but with Ulster at home you would favour the Irish province.

Prediction: Ulster by 5

Kings vs Benetton (17:15)

These sides have faced off against eachother 3 times with the Italians coming out on top all 3 times. Kings lost by the tightest of margins last season at home with the Italians edging their counterparts 36-35. Should be a fun fixture.

Prediction: Benetton by 10

Glasgow vs Scarlets (17:15)

Fixture of the round for us. Glasgow host 2016/17 PRO14 champions Scarlets at Scotstoun. Both sides have rested internationals but a quality game is still to be expected.

Prediction: Glasgow by 7

Dragons vs Leinster (17:15)

Current PRO14 champions Leinster travel to Wales to take on the Dragons, with the Irish heading into this one winning their last 5 against this opposition. Leinster have stuck with the majoirty of their youthful side that dismantled the Ospreys last weekend. It's a different task on hand for these players but Leinster should get the job done.

Prediction: Leinster by 14
