Ulster maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought 26-24 home win over the Scarlets in round 7 of the Pro14. Ulster crossed for an early try to lead 5-0, with the Scarlets missing two kicks at goal in quick succession. Ulster were then reduced to 14 players after picking up a yellow card 16 minutes in and the Scarlets capitalized immediately with a try to hit the front 7-5. Ulster scored their second try around the half hour mark to regain the lead and would add a third score with the final play of the first half to take a 19-7 lead into the break. The Scarlets got off to the perfect start in the second half, with a try just a minute in to make it 19-12. Ulster then picked up their second yellow card of the match and the Scarlets made use of their numerical advantage with their third score to reduce the deficit to just two points at 19-17 heading into the final quarter. Ulster took control of the match with their bonus point fourth try with 15 minutes to play to make it a two-score ball game at 26-17. The Scarlets would run in a late score to secure two bonus points, but it's Ulster who go marching on.
