Premiership Highlights: Harlequins v Bath Rugby

Harlequins fully deserved their 20-5 victory over Bath at the Twickenham Stoop this afternoon. It was the visitors who took the lead however, as Matt Banahan crossed for a try with a trademark bulldozing run inside 15 minutes. Harlequins settled into the game from here and Tim Visser levelled things up after he intercepted James Wilson's pass and ran the length of the field to score on 23 minutes. The hosts extended their lead through the boot of Catrakillis which brought the score to 10-5 at the interval. Bath were dealt a blow early in the second half when Max Lahiff was sent to the sin bin for a cynical infringement just outside his own goal line and from here there was only going to be one winner. Quins used the extra man to their advantage with Kyle Sinckler showing great strength to muscle his way over from close range and put the final nail in Bath's coffin. Outhalf Marcus Smith came on with 15 minutes to go and looked really lively with ball in hand. The Englishman was unlucky not to score in the final play of the game where he read and collected an intercept but Zach Mercer hunted him down and bundled Smith into touch 5m out from the try line. Smith did manage to kick a penalty goal for his efforts which made the score 20-5 at the final whistle.
