Ospreys Injury Update
- 1580
The Ospreys medical team has issued an update on a number of players as the start of the new season draws closer.
Ashley Beck has been ruled out of the opening months of the season after undergoing surgery over the weekend. The centre developed a shoulder problem following the start of pre-season training and, after scans and consultation with specialists, the decision was made to proceed with surgery which is likely to keep him out for the next three to four months
James King is recovering well from the surgery he had following an ankle ligament injury sustained in the semi-final against Munster in May. His rehab is going well and we hope to see him back on the field at some point in the first month of the season.
Dan Lydiate is progressing well as he continues his rehab from knee and shoulder surgery and, like James King, we expect to see him during the first month of the season.
Brian Mujati continues to be sidelined with a shoulder problem that developed at the end of last season and is limiting his ability to train fully with the group.
Sam Parry is integrating well into team training and continues to progress well in his recovery from a neck injury. We are hopeful that he will be available for selection on or around week one of the new season.
