Former France captain and Montpellier hooker Guilhem Guirado plans to retire at the end of next season.

The 74 test cap front-rower retired from international rugby after the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

Speaking after Montpellier's final game of the season on Saturday, the hooker confirmed that the 2021/22 season will be his final one.

"I think it will be my last season," said the 34-year-old

"It's in my head. You have to know how to stop, you have to know how to enjoy it fully,"

Guiradois under contract with Montpellier until June 2022.

He was a World Cup winner with the France under-21s in 2006 and went on to captain France 32 times in 74 tests for Les Bleus.
