Nick Wood - I'm third in line to start for Gloucester

Nick Wood reckons he faces a major challenge to regain the number one jersey at Kingsholm despite coming through his comeback unscathed.

The loosehead prop was ruled out of the opening fixtures of the Premiership season after missing pre-season due to back spasms.

He returned to action with a 61 minute performance in Gloucester United’s 34-17 defeat at the hands of Worcester Cavaliers.

Wood admits it was a disappointing result but was relieved to be back on the pitch following a frustrating period on the side-lines.
