New Zealand v Australia | Bledisloe Cup Game 2 Highlights
- 2251
New Zealand bounced back from their heavy defeat last week with a comprehensive 36-0 home win over Australia in the second Bledisloe Cup clash. New Zealand started strongly and opened the scoring with an early penalty. Australia began to find some rhythm, but two missed penalty attempts saw the score remain 3-0 to the hosts. New Zealand then crossed for two tries in quick succession to race into a 17-0 lead. The All Blacks then picked up a yellow card just before halftime and also missed a shot at goal with the final play of the half as they headed into the break with a 17 point advantage. An early second half try saw New Zealand extend their advantage to 24-0, with Australia being kept at bay by some physical and rock solid All Black defence. The All Blacks would run in a further two tries inside the final 15 minutes to seal a resounding victory which sees them retain the Bledisloe Cup, which they have held since 2003.
