New Zealand U20's Vs France U20's
- 2438
New Zealand under-20s will face England in the world rugby championships final after beating France 39-26.
The match got off to a tense start after a fiery All Blacks haka was met with steely glares from the French.
The French were motionless during the traditional pre-match challenge but the tension ramped up once the haka was finished.
Rather than prepare for kick-off the two teams, standing 20 metres apart, stared at each other for 80 seconds.
The Baby Blacks led the semifinal 36-0 just after halftime but France, who've never progressed to the decider in this tournament, fought back admirably after New Zealand had streaked clear.
Tiaan Falcon scored 19 of New Zealand's points - including one of their five tries.
He also produced what has been described by World Rugby as an "outrageous pass" in the lead up to a New Zealand try to winger Caleb Clarke.
Asafo Aumua, Dalton Papali'i and Will Jordan also touched down, but France scored four second-half tries to put the Baby Blacks under the pump with 26 unanswered points.
