Muntz to Lead Fiji Attack at Twickenham
- 959
Flyhalf Caleb Muntz will guide a strong Fijian backline after coach Mick Byrne unveiled his team to take on England at Twickenham in Saturday’s Autumn International.
Most of the matchday squad comes from the Fijian Drua contingent in Super Rugby Pacific, but Byrne has added several European-based players to inject experience and composure into key areas.
New Zealand-born Muntz partners scrum half Simione Kuruvoli in the halves. The duo will look to ignite a dangerous Fijian backline stacked with power runners capable of stretching England’s defence. In midfield, Josua Tuisova of Racing 92 links up with Bristol Bears centre Kalaveti Ravouvou, while the back three features Toulon flyer Jiuta Wainiqolo, Selestino Ravutaumada, and Bordeaux fullback Salesi Rayasi.
Up front, hooker Tevita Ikanivere is flanked by props Eroni Mawi of Saracens and Mesake Doge. Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavanua form the second-row partnership, with Kitione Salawa and Elia Canakaivata on the flanks and Bristol’s Viliame Mata anchoring the scrum at number eight.
This fixture marks Fiji’s first appearance since lifting the Pacific Nations Cup in September, following a 33–27 win over Japan. Their last trip to Twickenham ended in a memorable 30–22 victory in 2023, though England have won eight of the nine contests between the two nations.
