In a statement released a short while ago, Munster have confirmed the departure of Denis Hurley, BJ Botha, Cathal Sheridan, Gerhard van den Heever and Shane Buckley.
Hurley, a product Munster Rugby Academy, made his first competitive start for Munster in May 2006. Since then he has had a sterling career with the side, captaining Munster several times as well as being nominated for the 2015 IRUPA Unsung Hero Award.
BJ Botha has had limited appearances this season due to injury. The tighthead joined Munster from Ulster in 2011 and made the most appearances in the 2012/13 and 2014/15 seasons and won a grand total of 111 Munster caps, scoring four tries.
Gerhard van den Heever joined the province in November 2013 and made his debut away to Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade. One of the highlights of his career must surely be his Heineken Cup debut where Munster comprehensively defeated Toulouse at Thomond Park in the 2014 quarter final of the competition.
Shane Buckley has spent two seasons in the senior squad where he made eight PRO12 appearances. Across five seasons with Munster A, the back row made 24 British and Irish Cup appearances, scored 3 tries, captained the side on occasion and featured in the 2011/12 tournament winning campaign.
