Montpellier confirm contract extensions

Top 14 table toppers Montpellier have confirmed a number of star players who have re-signed with the club for the 2018/19 season.

Montpellier have retained their strength up front with Springbok duo Bismarck and Jannie du Plessis re-signing with the club. Bismarck was signed on for another two years keeping him at the club until 2020, while older brother Jannie has signed a one-year extension. Loosehead prop Grégory Fichten signed a long term deal with the club that will see him wear the Montpellier jersey until 2022. Georgian second rower Konstantine Mikautadze has also signed a two-year extension.

Former Toulon back Vincent Martin has signed a new 3 year deal with the club, while Francois Steyn is yet another Springbok who will remain with the club after signing a new two-year deal.

Academy star Thomas Darmon has also extended his stay with the club signing a three-year deal, two of those three years will be with the Academy and the third as a senior squad member.
