Hlafpenny to stay in Toulon
Leigh Halfpenny will see out the final year of his contract in Toulon his coach Bernard Laporte has confirmed.
The Wales full back has been linked with Wasps and a return to Cardiff Blues but Halfpenny has decided to stay the extra year in France.
"He's staying at Toulon. I don't know when he will sign but it should happen," said Laporte after Toulon's last gasp European Champions Cup 15-11 defeat of Wasps.
Laporte said Halfpenny "was under pressure from his national team coach, Warren Gatland, who would like to get everyone (all Welsh internationals) back" playing in Wales.
But Halfpenny has "the club's respect" despite a season wrecked by injury, added Laporte.
"He's a good lad, you need some like him in a club: he trains five hours a day," added the former France coach.
Saints down Glasgow with late try
It was a nail biter that looked even for most of the game until Glasgow took the lead with a brilliant Stuart Hogg penalty from halfway.
The turning point in the final moments of the game was when Tim Swinson was sent to the bin for throwing punch.
The Saints showed showed outstanding determination to go in search of a winning try in the final 10 minutes of the game.
That came after a Myler cross field kick that found the youngster Harry Mallinder who scored on his European debut.
