Monday Round-Up
Cruden Out: Aaron Cruden's World Cup hopes have been dashed after the out-half ruptured his ACL. The Chiefs and All Blacks were delivered devastating news when it was confirmed Cruden had ruptured his left anterior cruciate ligament. Cruden will have reconstruction surgery on Wednesday and it is expected to keep out the talented playmaker for around 6 months. In a brief statement, the Chiefs confirmed that Cruden would undergo traditional surgery "given Aaron's young age and long-term career prospects."
Toulon in final: Toulon have qualifed for the 3rd straight European final after defeating Leinster 25-20. After 80 minutes locked at 12-12, the game went into extra time where a mistake from Madigan saw Habana intercept and charge to the line to put Toulon 10 up with minutes remaining. Leinster put in a brave performance and a Sean O'Brien try gave them a glimmer of hope in the final few minutes but Toulon managed to see it out. Leinster pushed Toulon all the way with their best performance so far this season but it wasn't enough to stop the Toulon juggernaut. Toulon will now meet Clermont Auvergne in Twickenham on May 2nd where they will look to get the elusive 3 in a row.
