Mitre 10 Cup HIGHLIGHTS: Wellington v Auckland

Auckland moved to the top of the Premiership standings as they edged Wellington 29-24. An early try and penalty saw Wellington into a 10-0 lead, but Auckland hit back with their first try to trail by just three points at the break. Two early second half Wellington tries, with an Auckland penalty sandwiched in between, saw the hosts out to a 24-10 advantage. Auckland responded with their second try to reduce the deficit to just seven points at 24-17 heading into the final quarter. Wellington then picked up a yellow card, with Auckland capitalizing immediately on their numerical advantage with two scores just a minute apart to seal a hard fought victory.
