Melbourne loses out on Bledisloe Cup test

Melbourne has lost out yet again on the sporting front as the test between the Wallabies and All Blacks for the coveted Bledisloe Cup, which was originally scheduled for 8 August, has been yanked away from the city and may be placed under the responsibility of Brisbane.
Brisbane is due to host the second test as well, on 17 October.
The reason for the move is the second spike in Covid-19 which Melbourne is currently experiencing while the rest of the country seems to have the virus well under control.
“Victorians are sticking together as the state works to slow the spread of coronavirus and it’s not possible to play this match in 2020,” Rugby Australia’s interim chief, Rob Clarke, said.
“The decision to swap the All Blacks Test to 2022 is a sensible one.”
