Max Deegan puts in a starring performance as Leinster smash Connacht
- 2822
Max Deegan did his hopes of earning a test debut during the 2020 Six Nations no harm with a starring performance against Connacht as Leinster powered to their 10th straight victory this season in the PRO14.
The 23-year-old loose forward has been battling with Caelan Doris for the starting jersey at Leinster with both players attending Ireland's camp over December.
However, Deegan put his hand up high for selection with an outstanding performance in the Irish derby against Connacht.
Deegan's performance was far from just an attacking masterclass as he made all of his attempted 29 tackles.

The fourth try coming in the 20th minute secured the bonus point for Leinster with Ruddock win the lineout and Leinster dumming in the maul. The ball went out to Deegan who hit Joe Tomane with a short ball as the former Wallaby powered over.
And that’s the BP secured inside 20 mins ⚡️@JoeTomane29 crashes over and @leinsterrugby are flying, could this be their best display of the season?#GuinnessPRO14 #LEIvCON

Deegan's stormer continued in the second half as he played a massive role in the first try of the second half and Leinster's sixth.
He fended off Caolin Blade to break through the gap and when the halfback came back to complete the tackle he offloaded to Garry Ringrose who scored!
Simply unstoppable 👊@MaxDeegan is having a stormer as he breaks through again for @leinsterrugby, with @Ringrose_G finishing in style 👌 #GuinnessPRO14 #LEIvCON
