Bordeaux and Clermont played out to a 16 all draw in Saturday's opening TOP14 clash at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
A real arm-wrestle between the two sides saw just two tries being scored with Bordeaux hooker Maxime Lamothe dotting down in the 14th minute.
It did not long for Clermont to respond with Tim Nanai-Williams breaking through a gap and offloading to Raka who put Damian Penaud away.
As the winger got up from scoring, he ran into Bordeaux flyhalf Matthieu Jalibert with the pair embracing after dotting down.
Jalibert and Morgan Parra traded shots at goal before Jalibert gave his side a three-point lead into the break.
Both defences stood firm in the second half with either side also having their struggles at lineout time meaning that the only points scored would come via the boot. Parra levelled the scores at 13 apiece before the hour mark before Jalibert gave his side the lead once again on the hour mark.
Clermont would have the final say as Jean-Pascal Barraque nailed a penalty from inside his own half to secure the draw.
