Matt Smith to remain at Leicester Tigers

"He's been in outstanding form for us this season, his attitude to his work is first class and that is the kind of influence you want in the squad," says Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill. Smith is in his 11th season and has scored 29 tries in his 178 appearances for the club. He made history in the 2012/2013 season when he and his father Ian 'Dosser' Smith became the first father and son in Tigers history to each pass 100 starts for the club.
