Top of the table Scarlets welcome 8th spot Ospreys to Parc Y Scarlets to open today's fixtures. Last season when these two sides met at this stadium it was the hosts that edged it with a 22-10 victory. However, it is always a tight affair when these sides meet, with Ospreys claiming a 17-15 in the return fixture. This is set to be a thrilling encounter with the likes of Dan Biggar and DTH Van Der Merwe set to impress as they did in the Rugby World Cup.

This fixture is followed up by London Irish welcoming Northampton Saints in the Premiership. London Irish have struggled so far this season, failing to record a single point as of yet. The hosts will look to turn this around as we head into the second half of the season with a victory at home. Whereas the Saints find themselves just outside of a play-off spot and will be determined to record a victory today. This is a must win for both sides to kick start their campaigns.

Exeter Chiefs facing off against Sale Sharks at Sandy Park. The Chiefs have had an impressive season so far, sitting 2nd in the Premiership and previously causing a huge upset in their 31-14 victory over French giants Clermont. A win today for the Chiefs would secure the top spot for today at least. The Sale Sharks will look to record a win today after a disappointing run of results, winning only 2 of their 6 opening games.

3rd spot Leicester host 2nd from bottom Newcastle Falcons in the other 3:00pm kick-off. Leicester have impressed so far, losing only 1 fixture in the Premiership so far this season. Whereas the visitors Newcastle have failed to secure a single victory as of yet. This is a big game for both sides heading into the new year.

To finish the day, Connacht welcome Ulster to The Sportsground in what has become a huge rivalry in recent years. Last season, Ulster recorded victories in both fixtures against their Irish counterparts, both of which were rather tight affairs at 13-10 and 20-27.
